Everyone struggles to remember where they parked their car—and that gets more difficult as you get older! But Google Maps make is easier by providing a Parking Spot feature.
Here’s how to use it on either an iPhone or Android phone:
How to Save Your Parking Location
- Open Google Maps and tap the blue dot (your current location).
- Select Save Parking to drop a pin.
How to Find Your Saved Parking Spot on iPhone
- Open Google Maps.
- Look for a Parking Location label on the map — it usually appears as a blue pin or a P icon.
- Tap it to get directions back to your car. If you don’t see it on the map, tap the search bar at the top of the screen and search for “saved parking” or scroll down to Recent to see your saved parking spot. Tap it to view or navigate.
To Make Sure it Works
- Keep Location Services set to “Always” for Google Maps. (Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Scroll to Google Maps and set it to “Always.”)
- Make sure Google Maps has Background App Refresh enabled. (Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Scroll to Google Maps and turn it on.
Bonus tip:
If you use Google Assistant, you can say: “Hey Google, where did I park?”
